A Tradition of Gratitude and Gathering
Thanksgiving is a cherished time to pause, reflect on our blessings, and share special moments with loved ones. And while many of us have our own traditions, at Little Arrow, we’ve cultivated a unique way of celebrating this beloved holiday: Campsgiving.
A Legacy of Community and Celebration
The Campsgiving tradition at Little Arrow has its roots in the practices of our Tremont Campground predecessors. This gratitude-filled event brings together not just families, but an entire community of campers and glampers, creating an atmosphere of unity and shared joy.
Feast with a Twist
Around lunchtime on Thanksgiving Day we turn over the “Closed” sign on the Little Arrow Camp Store window, and our staff and the entire campground is invited to enjoy a family-style Campsgiving meal. With the majestic Smoky Mountains as our backdrop, we gather to say grace, and then the delicious buffet line begins. Little Arrow provides the turkey, dressing, and drinks, and our guests contribute their favorite side items. Because our campers come from all parts of the country, the feast becomes a sampler of regional dishes with many of the recipes passed down through generations. (We try to take note of the ingredients, but all too often they’re a secret!)
