Introducing Little Arrow Base Camp
There’s a new way to experience the Smokies, and it’s built around one simple idea: having the perfect place to come back to.
Little Arrow Base Camp is an upcoming sister property to Little Arrow Outdoor Resort, located in Townsend, Tennessee, also known as the Peaceful Side of the Smokies. While connected in spirit to Little Arrow Outdoor Resort, Base Camp will be its own experience, with its own amenities, layout, and feel.
As of now, Base Camp is projected to open in July (subject to change), and we’re excited to share what’s coming!
What Is Base Camp?
Base Camp is designed to be exactly what the name suggests… your starting point for adventure and your place to land at the end of the day.
Whether you’re heading into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, exploring Townsend, or just enjoying a slower pace, Base Camp will give you a comfortable, walkable place to stay that keeps everything within reach.
A Different Kind of Stay
Unlike traditional campgrounds, Base Camp is being designed with ease and accessibility in mind.
The property will be:
- Relatively flat and easy to navigate
- Highly walkable and bike-friendly
- Located right along the Townsend greenway, making it easy to get around without a car
You’ll be able to step out of your site and walk or bike to nearby spots in town, or head straight toward the foothills of the Smokies.
What Base Camp Will Offer
Base Camp will feature its own set of amenities, separate from Little Arrow, creating a complete experience right on property.
Planned amenities include:
- Resort pool, hot tub, and bath house
- Playground for kids to explore and make new friends
- Direct river access to the Little River
- A pavilion for gathering and events
- On-site shop
- Laundry facility
- RV sites designed for comfort and convenience
Everything is being built to support both short stays and longer getaways!
Right in the Heart of Townsend
One of the biggest advantages of Base Camp is its location.
You’ll have easy access to:
- The Great Smoky Mountains National Park
- Scenic drives like the Foothills Parkway
- Local spots like Company Distilling (just next door for cocktails and live music)
- Outdoor activities like hiking, biking, fly fishing, and tubing at River Rat
- E-bike rentals from nearby shops like Vee Hollow
It’s a place where you can stay close to town, explore the mountains, and come back to a space that feels easy to get to and relaxing to be at!

Little Arrow Base Camp is currently under development, with an anticipated opening in July (subject to change).
