Blog for Your Dog

Calling all dog lovers!

If you’re planning a getaway with your furry friend, Little Arrow Outdoor Resort in the stunning Great Smoky Mountains is your perfect destination. Not only do we offer pet-friendly accommodations, but we also have some of the best trails for you and your pup to explore. Here’s everything you need to know about bringing your pet along and where you can enjoy some tail-wagging adventures!

Pet-Friendly Stays at Little Arrow

First things first, we adore dogs at Little Arrow! To ensure you and your pet have a hassle-free stay, please remember to book one of our designated “Pet Friendly” units. We have specific accommodations for pet owners, including certain cabins, tiny homes, and our Camp View Vacation Home. There’s an additional charge per night depending on your accommodation choice, and remember, a maximum of two dogs are allowed.

We also offer dog-sitting services for those days when you want to venture where paws can’t tread. And yes, our dog park is always open for some off-leash excitement! Just be sure to pick up after your pup and keep an eye on their social interactions.

Top Dog-Friendly Trails at and Near Little Arrow

  • Little Arrow’s Own Hiking Trails
    • Start right here at the resort! We have quiet hiking trails with beautiful views overlooking Townsend and others that border the National Park. If you start from the trail entrance, these trails range from 1 to 2 miles, making them perfect for a leisurely walk with your dog.
  • Gatlinburg Trail
    • One of the few trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where pets are welcome, the Gatlinburg Trail is a gentle 3.8-mile round trip. It runs from the outskirts of Gatlinburg to the Sugarlands Visitor Center, offering river views and a relatively flat path suitable for all ages.
  • Oconaluftee River Trail
    • Another pet-friendly trail in the National Park, the Oconaluftee River Trail offers a peaceful 3-mile round trip walk. Located at the park’s south entrance, this trail features river scenery and is generally flat, ideal for an easy hike with your four-legged companion.

Remember, while exploring any trail, keep your dog on a leash and bring along water for both you and your pet, especially during the warmer months ahead!

So pack your bags (and some doggy treats) and get ready for a pawsome time at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort, where adventure and comfort. Whether lounging by your cabin or trotting along a trail, it’s a place both you and your pet will never forget!
